Blood Sugar Management Requires Awareness.

Know what makes your blood sugar level rise and fall — and how to control these day-to-day factors can greatly benefit your clients who are struggling with diabetes, heart disease, and even kidney disease.  Healthy eating is a cornerstone of healthy living.

The  Blood Sugar Management Program program is designed to give you the resources and confidence that will help your clients manage their blood sugars more effectively throughout the day by incorporating these simple food practices.

  1. Eat small meals every 3 to 4 hours throughout the day, rather than 3 large meals per day. Avoid foods high in saturated fats or trans fats.
  2. Choose foods with a low glycemic index score.
  3. Reduce or eliminate processed and refined sugars from your diet.
  4. Choose complex carbohydrates over simple carbohydrates.
  5. Reduce or eliminate alcoholic drinks, and never mix alcohol with sugar-filled mixers, such as fruit juice.
  6. Eat lean protein.
  7. Eat foods high in soluble fiber.
