1 tbsp | Sesame seeds, black (Can be increased to 2 tbsp. Raw and organic highly recommended) |
1 cup | Water, filtered (boiled) |
Directions
1. Turn on the water to high and bring it to a boil.
2. Meanwhile, grind the black sesame seeds and place them in a large mug (I recommend using a mortar and pestle or use a spoon to squish the seeds against the side of a mug until the seeds open.)
3. Pour one cup of boiled water over the sesame seeds and let steep for 15 minutes, place a non-plastic plate or lid on the top of the mug.
4. Drink the black sesame tea and eat the seeds at the bottom of the cup (or you can strain them out ahead of time if the seeds really, really bother you- although you'll be losing the benefit of the fiber from the seeds.)
Now you wait patiently for this food-based tea to do its work which can take from 2-8+ hours depending on your body. And if you are super constipated you may need to take this a few days in a row to get things moving along.
