1 large | Egg (Hard Boiled) |
Traditional Boil Method:
Using a push pin (tac), push a small hole into the bottom of each egg you are going to boil. This would be the larger end of the egg.
Gently place the eggs in the bottom of deep pot for boiling.
Fill pot with cold water
Add a dash of baking soda to the water.
Heat pot on stove top to a roiling boil - time boil for 1 minute. USE A TIMER
When timer goes off, take pot off heat and cover. Let eggs sit in the hot water for 10 minutes - USE A TIMER
When eggs are almost done, fill a large bowl or pot with water and ice.
When timer goes off, remove eggs from hot water and place into the ice water bowl.
Give the eggs a few seconds to cool down, once you can handle the eggs, peel and store in tightly sealed container in the fridge.
Instant Pot Pressure Cooker Method:
You can also use the push-pin method for these eggs. See above.
Pour 1 cup of water into your pressure cooker
Place a steam basket inside pressure cooker - a silicon steam basket works well here
Take eggs from fridge and put them right into the steam basket in the instant pot
Put lid on pressure cooker and seal shut (close)
Set the pressure to high and cook for 6 minutes.
When pressure cooking reaches 6 minutes, manually release the steam.
Put the hot eggs into an ice-water bath until you can handle them comfortably.
Peel and enjoy or store in sealed container in fridge.
Egg Cooker:
If you have an egg cooker, I do, this is also a super easy way to make hard boiled eggs. I think this is the fastest method too ; )
