Alas! A bread that is low-carb, vegan, and high in protein!
Ingredients
360 gm
Vital wheat gluten
6 tbsp
Chickpea flour
3 tbsp
Flaxseed meal (ground)
3 tbsp
Chia seeds
3 tbsp hulled
Hemp seeds, shelled
1 1/2 tsp
Salt
1 1/2 tsp
Baking powder
2 cup
Water
Instructions
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F. Place parchment paper on a baking sheet.
In a medium bowl, mix the vital wheat gluten, chickpea flour, ground flaxseed, chia seeds, hemp seeds, salt, and baking powder.
Slowly add in the water while mixing, until a big piece of dough forms. Knead the dough a bit if needed to help form shape.
Let the dough sit for 20 minutes.
Split the dough into three even parts. Use your hands to roll each piece of dough into the shape of a cylinder. Each portion of dough will be a "loaf" of bread.
Place the three breads onto the baking sheet. Bake for 45-60 minutes.
Remove from heat and let it cool before slicing the bread.
Notes:
Store in fridge or freeze!
Serve with anything you would serve with bread. Can also make sandwiches, such as grilled cheese, peanut butter sandwiches, avocado toast, etc.
