1 tsp | Ghee (or other animal fat) |
75 gm | Yellow onion (2 1/2 oz; chopped) |
1 large stalk(s) | Celery (chopped) |
2 clove(s) | Garlic (minced) |
851 gm | Beef, ground (1lb 2oz) |
1 pepper(s) | Red chili pepper (also chile or chilli) (chopped) |
1 tsp | Fenugreek seeds (ground) |
2 tsp | Cumin (ground) |
2 tsp | Paprika, smoked |
1 tsp | Himalayan salt |
1/2 tsp | Black pepper |
200 ml | Bone broth, Organic (1 cup; or water) |
200 ml | Crushed tomatoes canned (1 cup) |
1 tbsp | Basil, fresh (chopped) |
Melt the ghee in a large pan, add onions, celery, garlic and chili and sauté over medium heat for 5 mins
Stir in the ground beef and cook until the meat is no longer pink
Add all of the spices to the pan with the salt and black pepper
Stir in the bone broth (or water) and crushed tomatoes and bring to the boil
Continue cooking over a medium heat for 15-20 mins stirring occasionally
Add the freshly chopped basil and serve... For a little extra fat, try adding a tablespoon of soured cream. Yum!
