3/4 cup

Butter, unsalted

3/4 cup packed

Brown sugar

1 tsp
|
Vanilla extract, imitation, no alcohol

1/2 cup

All-purpose white flour
|
1/2 cup
|
Wheat flour, whole wheat
|
1 cup
|
Oats, large flakes, dry
|
1 1/2 tsp
|
Baking soda
|
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350℉
Melt butter, brown sugar and vanilla together over low heat in a medium to large sized pot.
Add flour, oatmeal and baking soda and stir until mixed well.
Pour mixture into a greased cookie sheet and press down.
You don't have to use the entire cookie sheet, simply shape the slab into whatever size you like.
If you are using an optional topping, now is when to press it into the top.
Bake for approximately 10-15 minutes or until top is brown.
Notes:
You can make these using just all-purpose flour.
I use a large stoneware Pampered chef bar pan that requires no grease and they don't stick!
Optional toppings: chocolate chips, nuts smarties, m&m's
