Drink after a workout or heavy sweating to replace your lost electrolytes or sip throughout the day.
Replacing your electrolytes after sweating is very important for proper recovery and normal cellular function. Symptoms of electrolyte imbalance can range from headaches, muscle soreness, cramping and nerve twitching to much worse long-term issues like hypertension and anxiety.
Gatorade replaces your electrolytes but is also pumped full of hormone-disrupting synthetic dyes and brominated vegetable oil, which has been proven to be toxic!
It is very important to use 100% Canadian Maple Syrup for this recipe as it has a low sugar count and high amounts of these essential electrolytes needed for proper recovery after fluid loss.
Be wary of false maple syrup or Aunt Jemima style syrups that contain high fructose corn syrup and flavouring.
Using pink salt will also increase the amount of minerals as it contains 84 trace minerals. Regular table salt only contains 2 (iodine and sodium).
