This Vegan Tempeh BLT is a plant-based twist on a comfort food classic and just as delicious!
Ingredients

Tempeh (tempe)
1 1/2 tbsp
Maple syrup, pure
1/2 tbsp
Soy sauce
1 1/2 tbsp
Barbecue sauce
6 slice
Bread, sprouted, whole grain, Ezekiel 4:9
1 1/2 cup
Lettuce, spring mix (mesclun)
6 slice
Tomato
1/2 avocado(s)
Avocado
(sliced)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C).
Cut tempeh into small strips.
Mix together maple syrup, soy sauce, and BBQ sauce. In a shallow dish, marinate the tempeh in the maple BBQ sauce mixture. Flip to coat well and let sit for about 10-15 minutes.
On a rimmed baking sheet, line with foil, then place down tempeh strips.
Bake for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
Prepare your sandwich: layer bread, tomatoes, lettuce, tempeh, and avocado. Top with additional toppings if desired.
